What to wash dreads with?

I'm considering getting my hair dreaded... I was wondering what to wash it with... I've looked at products specially designed for dreads... but they are WAY to expensive here (about 30-40 bucks for a small bottle).

Is there anything under 10-15 dollars that can be used to wash dreads?? Like normal soap? or a brand of shampoo?
