Hair Relaxer for Wavy white boy hair?

Im a 17 year old white kid who hates his hair. Its wavy and sticks and flips out in weird places and grows out, not down. Would a hair relaxer make it look just like plain old straight hair? Or would it give it a weird texture or anything? Are there different strengths for different ethnicities or hair relaxers specifically designed for guys?

Thanks.

I've seen people who weren't black get hair relaxers, but usually they have very curly or even kinky hair, so it works for them. Since your hair is wavy, I wouldn't trust it. They do make hair straighteners that are like relaxers for Caucasian hair. I saw them in a drug store once. You could try one of those out. They may be gentler that relaxers designed for ethnic hair.

P.S.S It'll definitely be cheaper to do it yourself or have a family member apply your straigtener. Salon prices differ from place to place, but prices could be anywhere from $50-$80 depending on where you go and your exact hair type.

P.S. Let it be known that once you get your hair chemically straightened, you'll have to keep getting it done if you want it to stay straight. The hair that's chemically straightened will always remain straight, but your hair will continue to grow curly, so you'll have to get touch-ups (only one the new growth) periodically.

well relaxer is only going to get about 70-80% of the wave out of your hair so it will not be prefectly straight, and it is also very damageing to your hair, and when your hair grows in it will be all wavy again and you will have to get the relaxer done again, if your hair is not dyed then your hair should recover from the relaxer well, if it is dyed then it will be more damaged, also, all hair is the same, guy or girl, same chemicals and same treatments, but if you colored your hair with a mens hair color then when you go to get it relaxed it will sizzel and smoke and you will not have hair, so thats something to be aware of, but if you do not straighten your hair and it is in good condition then i think a relaxer would help you
