Why isn't my hair holding its color?

I have the shampoo designed, I dye my hair permanently but it won't stay the color I want it. It's gone within a week. I've gone to professionals and it lasts a week as well. Since had my first baby and I'm on my last child, I've never been able to do it...What's going on, is it hormones and ageing?!

Why isn't my hair holding its color?

As we get older, our hair becomes more porous and will not hold the color as long. Red is the hardest to keep because the dye itself is more prone to fading (same concept as a red t-shirt that loses its color quickly). I went to a lighter shade so the grays are not as dominate looking as they start showing up. Some tips would be to only wash your hair every other day with a color safe shampoo and use a lighter hair color that compliments your skin tones.

Why isn't my hair holding its color?

See if this helps M'dear....It's called protein filler and here is a website that you can refer your information.

I hope this helps.

Good luck

Why isn't my hair holding its color?

It depends, hormones can have a lot do with it. You just may be someone whose hair will not accept color. Usually, if we damage our hair a little bit, it will take color better. The cuticle of your hair is usually what allows the color to absorb into your hair. Your cuticle may be very strong and resistant. You can try having your hairdresser use perm solution with no rollers in your hair. Just to damage the cuticle a little. Then try doing the hair color. See if that works. Good luck, I hope this helps!!

Why isn't my hair holding its color?

This may seem weird but it may be your water, what color is your natural hair and what color do you dye it? I have red hair and no matter what color I dye it it only lasts about two weeks because of well water, the iron in the water breaks down the hair dye faster and causes it to be stripped from the hair, I have learned to live with the fact that I am not able to have a long lasting dye so I don't waste the money on it.

Why isn't my hair holding its color?

hormones of course can change your hair in many ways. the best color care shampoo is wella color preserve. also i dont know because you didnt mention-age-well if you have grays they are very resistant. ask your hairdresser to spray on tca hard to cover-if there is any specific spots. it really works. ive been doing hair along time and believe me-unless its some bright red color you shouldnt have the troubles you are having. permanent color lasts for at least 4-6 weeks. maybe try another professional that uses a different hair color line.

Do anyone know a word that means using something for other than its intended purpose?

I really enjoy finding multiple uses for things or meeting a special need with an item designed for something else entirely. For example, I use an IV pole to hold a mirror so I can cut my own hair, and as a clothes rack the rest of the time. Is there an adjective that describes this practice or a noun that is this practice? Thanks!

Do anyone know a word that means using something for other than its intended purpose?

Ersatz (German), or substitute. Kludge is also used for that purpose.

Do anyone know a word that means using something for other than its intended purpose?

misuse

Do anyone know a word that means using something for other than its intended purpose?

contaminating

Do anyone know a word that means using something for other than its intended purpose?

Improvise, or improvisation. Using an object meant for one thing to do another.

Do anyone know a word that means using something for other than its intended purpose?

euphemism... is the required word... i guess...

YOU BETTER CHECK OUT THE DICTIONARY MEANING OF THIS WORD.

Do anyone know a word that means using something for other than its intended purpose?

well needless to say, performing such an action is only limited by one's own imagination; having said that, the item could be termed "multifunctional"; "substitute" is another.

Do anyone know a word that means using something for other than its intended purpose?

MISUSE

Do anyone know a word that means using something for other than its intended purpose?

Intended purpose... "alternate use"

"bastardize" or "make-shift"

There are others that would be politacally incorrect. It's initials are N R... R being "rigged". I don't know where that came from.

Ewan McGregor desktop wallpaper?

Can someone give me the link to a Ewan McGregor wallpaper of him on a white background. There are two of him: one on the left where he's got his hip ****** to the side and his hands in his pockets and the one on the right where he's running his hands through his hair. He's in black and white as well. On the top left it says 'ewan mcgregor' and under that 'designed by lauren %26gt;%26gt; www.ewanfan.com'. I know it's vague and probably hard to find but if anyone has seen it, please tell me.

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

Pesticides are poisons designed to kill living beings. Exposure to pesticides, even at low levels, can cause health risks. Farm workers have an increased risk for many health problems because of their exposure to pesticides. The families of farm workers are also at risk because pesticides can contaminate clothes, skin and hair. Pesticides get brought into the home when parents return from work. They can drift into homes after being applied to nearby fields. Children are most sensitive to the effects of pesticides since their bodies are still developing. It is likely that children whose parents work in the fields already have pesticides in their system. A recent study in Californi discovered that among Latinos, farm workers had the greater risk of leukemia (59%), stomach cancer (70%), cervical cancer (63%) and uterine cancer (68%). (Cancer Registry of California, 2002) Other studies of farm workers and their families show reduced fertility and increased rates of birth defects and spontaneous abortions.

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

Nobody forces people to take these jobs, it is voluntary. If you willingly take a risky job, why should other people be forced to pay for your health problems? There is no logic in that.

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

Contracting cancer isn't a death sentence.

I dispute those figures as well.

And "It is likely that children whose parents work in the fields already have pesticides in their system."

Likely? What is the mode of transmission?

Seems another scare story with emphasis on the anecdotal evidence and not hard science. But of course those that just look at a headline and believe a story on face value will just come to a kneejerk conclusion that America is bad.

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

It seems that illegals are currently the ultimate in disposable resources.

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

I am an agricultural worker. And I am not dead, nor do I have cancer.

Besides, everyone knows that those pesticides only cause cancer in the State of California.

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

It quite apparent that these people are viewed by the powers that be as expendable!

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

No one forces them to take those jobs.

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

You choose to work in agriculture noone forces you. Most farmers make a living in agriculture. I'm not killing them they are killing themselves. I've work in pestcontrol for many years are you saying even though I chose to work there i should be allowed to sue them for the chemicals I use?

Zeldar: First of all I'm not conservative. Second I HAVE worked in a hazardous enviornment you moron. But I'm not going to take pity for the choices people make. You act like a child.

Secondly, I'm protected by face masks, gloves, boots, and a shower. My grandfather has worked with these chemicals for over 30 years. He literally dips his bare arms in the chemical tanks. If he gets cancer, you want me to take pity on his stupidity. Sorry isn't going to happen. Sure I'll feel bad, but you can only tell someone so much about the dangers involved.

I do care for people, but I'm also not going to force choice on someone either. You just want to be able to do what you want and not take responsibility for your own actions.

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

Because they are expendable. These are poor people who cannot defend themselves in our system that requires financial resources to get justice through our legal system. Most are here illegally as well, so in order to stay here they must stay away from law enforcement. Basically they have no choice and no hope unless someone else sticks up for them and helps them. In America, the Almighty Dollar takes precedence over human life.

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

First of all, your premise is compost. If we were 'killing them', they'd leave.

Maybe they shouldn't sneak over here illegally and suffer the consequences of hiding themselves!

Maybe they should wait for a work visa like everyone else in the world so that they may exist out in the open, and choose a job that has health benefits.

Maybe then, the free market would develop some benefits for these people, because they'd have an actual bargaining chip like a real, honest social security number. But you don't have a lot of room to demand rights when you've broken the law to get into our country.

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

http://www2a.cdc.gov/nioshtic-2/BuildQyr...

The site above listed agriculture related deaths/injuries logged into OSHA's database. I can't find anything there that supports your numbers but I can tell you one thing- thank g*d I don't have to run the haybaler.

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

!Viva Cesar Chavez!

WHY are we KILLING our agricultural workers?

There are more than Latinos doing farm work.

In almost every industry there are risks. People have health issues that work in popcorn factories...they do in coal mines and had them in steel mills....construction workers to people who work in hospitals are all exposed to something that can risk their health. It's an imperfect world out there.

So with your thinking I guess you are responsible for "killing" alot of people. I worked in agriculture. Not farm and vegetables but poultry. People got lung cancer and emphysema all the time because of the dander in the air. They gave us masks and we had to shower after work and wear different clothes home........they did all they could do for us but some still got sick anyway.

I would say you should contact those agriculture farms and see if they train their employees on the safety measures of working around a toxic substance. Maybe they tell them and they just don't abide by the rules. Is it only Latinos who live around farms? I lived around a ton of fields where they sprayed pesticide all the time. It's not like people are intentionally spraying them....it's the risk of where you live. I'm exposed everyday to unhealthy things.....I don't think there's too many areas left where it's 100% pure.

Maybe it's from spicy foods, unhealthy diet and sexually transmitted viruses for why they are suffering from those illnesses. Every disease you mentioned has a ton of different causes suffered by all kinds of people who never worked in the agriculture industry. They have pesticides in our water and I don't live near a farm now.

So accusing us for killing them is a tad dramatic.....we have tons of citizens out here from all races and genders suffering the same things and they don't have health care either.

Curly hair?

i have curly hair that frizzes a lot. normally, i flat iron it, but i would like to leave it curly sometimes. what methods can i use to achive smooth curls without buying any product. i have some smoothing products, but they are designed to help straighten hair, not smooth curls.

Curly hair?

Try using a diffuser to dry your hair. And spray some citre shine on your hair to keep it from frizzing so much.

Curly hair?

I find that using a lightweight leave in conditioner and spritzing it with water and scrunching it, usually works for me when I want to leave my hair curly.

Curly hair?

*Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now well defined and healthy. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life! But if this is completely uninteresting to you, disregard.

*To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel, a leave in, and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blow dryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a micro fiber hair turban/old t-shirts (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

*The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygienic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sulfates). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.

*Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (avoid these- ingredients will end in -xane, -conol, or -cone). Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse with cold/cool water.

*Do not brush/comb your hair after this point because it will disturb the curl pattern (make sure you already have a part). It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair with your fingers. Make sure gel is evenly distributed everywhere in your hair. If you use too much you can always scrunch out the crunchy texture later.

*Use paper towels or an old t-shirt to gently scrunch some of the water out (generic towels can make hair frizz). You can either let your hair air dry or wait ten minutes and then use a blowdryer with a diffuser. Dry until your hair is almost dry, and then air-dry the last bit. Do not touch the hair while it is air-drying or it will frizz!

*Use a cheap, silicone free conditioner to scrub your scalp such as Suave Naturals or Vo5. Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner (salon) or Nature's Gate\Desert Essences conditioners (health food stores) for your hair. I recommend using a gel (LA Looks, Herbal Essences, La Bella) over a leave in (L閳ユ┉real Out of Bed Instant Texturizer). Experiment with whatever products you wish, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites.

*You may be able to get away with some silicones (such as amodimethicone) if you clarify with a sulfate free shampoo. Try Devacurl no-poo (salon) or Cream of Nature (drug store). Feel free to find your own but always check the ingredients for sodium/ammonium lauryl/laureth sulfate.

*Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. Before you decide to quit shampoo, do a final cleanse with shampoo and stop the use of any products with silicones in them. This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. Naturally curly hair can be beautiful! I hope you consider this- email me if you have any questions!
